What openings in garden-style apartment buildings typically require

General requirements for this building type under the codes and standards that commonly apply. They are not a list of the products supplied on this project; each opening follows the project's drawings, hardware schedule and code review.

• Exterior swinging doors that meet Florida Building Code 8th Edition (2023) wind-load and impact requirements, usually shown through Florida Product Approval, since much of Palm Beach County is a wind-borne debris region.
• Fire-rated or smoke-resistant unit entry doors onto corridors, with self-closing and latching hardware installed per NFPA 80.
• Fire-rated stair enclosure doors with positive latching and closers in four-story residential buildings.
• Accessible hardware in accessible units and common areas such as the clubhouse and fitness center, including lever handles and compliant opening force under the 2010 ADA Standards and Fair Housing Act guidelines.
• Access control at amenity spaces, and self-closing, self-latching hardware at pool gates.
