Yes. A fire-rated door can have a vision lite when the glazing and lite kit are listed for that door's rating and the glass stays within the size allowed by the listing. The cutout and glazing should be done before the door ships, not cut into a labeled door in the field.

The Florida Building Code (Table 716.1(2)) and NFPA 80 limit fire-protection-rated glazing, such as ceramic or wired glass, to 100 square inches in 90-minute and 3-hour doors and in 60-minute doors in shaft and exit stair enclosures. Larger lites need fire-resistance-rated glazing tested to ASTM E119 or UL 263 and listed for the door. 20- and 45-minute doors can use glazing up to the maximum size tested, so check the door and glazing listings.

Classroom door lites use safety glazing, typically tempered or laminated glass, because glazing in doors is a hazardous location under the Florida Building Code, and safety glazing in doors must be tested to CPSC 16 CFR 1201 rather than ANSI Z97.1. If the classroom door is fire-rated, the glass must also be listed fire-rated glazing that meets impact safety requirements.
