What is the minimum clear width for an accessible office door?
The ADA 2010 Standards require a minimum clear opening of 32 inches, measured between the face of the door and the stop with the door open 90 degrees. Operable hardware must work with one hand without tight grasping, pinching or twisting of the wrist and be mounted 34 to 48 inches above the floor.
What is a Miami-Dade NOA?
A Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance (NOA) is a product approval issued by Miami-Dade County for building products used in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ), which covers Miami-Dade and Broward counties. Specifiers elsewhere in Florida also reference NOAs for exterior doors.
Can office suite doors use electrified locks?
Yes. Electrified locksets, electric strikes and exit devices can connect suite entries to an access-control system, as long as the door still allows free egress from inside and any fire-rated opening uses hardware listed for that assembly.
