    Toilet partitions, also called toilet compartments, are the prefabricated panels, doors and pilasters that divide a commercial restroom into private stalls. They are specified in CSI MasterFormat Division 10 (Section 10 21 13, Toilet Compartments), along with urinal screens and shower partitions.

    What is the best toilet partition material for wet areas?

    Solid plastic (HDPE) and phenolic core are the best choices for wet areas such as pools, water parks, gyms and locker rooms. HDPE is color throughout with no surface layer to delaminate, and phenolic core panels are dense and moisture resistant. Plastic laminate is not moisture resistant and is best kept to dry restrooms.

    How large does an ADA wheelchair accessible toilet compartment need to be?

    Under the 2010 ADA Standards (Section 604.8.1.1), a wheelchair accessible compartment must be at least 60 inches wide, measured perpendicular to the side wall, and at least 56 inches deep with a wall-hung water closet or 59 inches deep with a floor-mounted water closet. The compartment door must be self-closing and have door pulls on both sides near the latch.

    What is an ambulatory accessible toilet compartment?

    An ambulatory accessible compartment serves people who can walk but need grab bars for support. The 2010 ADA Standards require it to be 35 to 37 inches wide and at least 60 inches deep, with grab bars on both sides. One is required in addition to the wheelchair accessible compartment when a restroom has six or more toilet compartments, or six or more water closets and urinals combined.

    What is the difference between Division 8 and Division 10?

    In CSI MasterFormat, Division 08 covers openings such as doors, frames and door hardware, and Division 10 covers specialties such as toilet compartments and toilet accessories.
