What openings in outpatient cancer centers typically require

General requirements for this building type under the codes and standards that commonly apply. They are not a list of the products supplied on this project; each opening follows the project's drawings, hardware schedule and code review.

• Fire-rated door assemblies at exit stairs, shafts and rated separations, installed and maintained per NFPA 80, along with the ambulatory health care provisions of NFPA 101.
• Radiation therapy rooms, such as linear accelerator and proton treatment rooms, commonly use shielded doors or maze entries, with interlocks and warning systems tied to the treatment equipment.
• Accessible openings under the 2010 ADA Standards in patient areas: clear width, maneuvering clearance, hardware operable without tight grasping and, where provided, power-assisted or automatic operators.
• Controlled access at pharmacy, medication, imaging control and records rooms, such as card readers and electrified locks coordinated with fire alarm release.
• Exterior doors that meet Florida Building Code wind-load requirements for the site, with impact-resistant or protected assemblies where the site is in a wind-borne debris region.
