Lead Lined Door Limitations

At the time of writing, the line of Eggers lead lined doors had a standard maximum lead thickness of 1/8" because of safety and handling limitations (later Eggers literature notes thicker lead per engineering review). Additionally, there is a 500 lb maximum manufactured door weight. Other limiting factors include a maximum single door width of 48" and a maximum height of 10'.

Fire Ratings

When considering fire ratings, it is important to note that lead lined doors from Eggers are available for Category A, B, or Neutral pressure applications depending on the type of door selected.

Lead lined doors are commonly specified for imaging rooms in healthcare facilities.
