Oh What A Night!

The National Association of Women In Construction (NAWIC) Orlando Chapter recently held their annual Awards & Installation Banquet. The event is a great evening of recognizing the achievements of our members throughout the past year and looking ahead to the next year.

Mills was honored to be awarded with the Sponsor Appreciation Award for our contributions toward the continued success of the Chapter.

Even more exciting was when our own, Contessia Jones, walked away with two awards! One of her awards was for the Rookie of the Year for the Orlando Chapter. The participant of this award is voted on by the members. It recognizes the contributions and achievements of a member who goes above and beyond for the Chapter. Contessia’s other award was for Perfect Attendance, which shows her commitment to the Association.

Contessia was soo happy to get these awards and is thankful for everyone who voted for her as the Rookie of the Year! She Chairs the National Education Fund (NEF) for our local NAWIC Chapter. As the Chair, she collects monies at NAWIC’s monthly dinners. These funds go toward the NAWIC Founders Scholarship Foundation (NFSF) that awards over $100,000 annually to worthy recipients in construction-related programs. Contessia, or Queen Lola as she likes to be called, brings a flare to the position as she theme decorates the NEF booth for the meetings. Congratulations Queen! Your crown is sparkling a little brighter today.
