When you enter a business, hospital, sporting event, hotel, theme park, grocery store, or other commercial building you walk through a door. Think of all the doors you walk through in a day or in a week. That is what Mills & Nebraska supplies – doors for the commercial industry. Their products provide a “first touch” for the public for companies and when it’s after hours their products help keep those companies safe.

Mills & Nebraska started in 1933 and could be considered an Orlando icon – being one of the longest operating companies in the area. A gentleman by the name of Roy Pulsifer started the company with five other businessmen. Those five men were also Directors of Kissam Builders Supply which was founded in 1922 in Orlando. Their roots run deep here. Roy’s granddaughter, Bridget, is the current owner of the company. Her father, Tom, is also still involved.

For 73 years the company was literally at the corner of Mills Street & Nebraska Avenue in Orlando, hence the moniker stuck and they have been known as Mills & Nebraska for about 50 years. That property and lumber operation were sold and that area is now known as Mills Park.

Mills & Nebraska has a Lakeland office and an Orlando facility. The Orlando location includes wood and metal custom fabrication shops, specializing in commercial doors and frames. It maintains the largest inventory in Florida of hollow metal frames and doors, wood doors, and hardware for commercial projects that range from one opening to thousands of openings. Clients and projects are nationwide even though the company is “home grown.”

The company continues to innovate by having two Multiax CNC machining centers (one for each shop) which allow it to provide factory level precision in a fraction of the time.

Mills & Nebraska is the world’s oldest and one of the largest Ceco distributors, a manufacturer of steel doors and frames. They also have an installation company, SMI, that installs their products for projects.

They are a proud NAWIC sponsor and are a WBENC certified company – not just once but twice. Their Div. 8 material supply company and their installation company have both achieved WBENC Certification.

For your commercial opening solutions needs Mills & Nebraska is a one source shop. Their Architectural Hardware Consultants and Project Engineers partner with contractors to meet Owner’s needs in the construction design process.Let their experience add to your project and contact them today.
